I'll be your huckleberry.

Well Hello there! I have been thinking as of late, which is typically a bad idea for me. But what I came up with were a few more things for my bucket list! #106: I want to spend the 4th of July weekend seeing all of the historical sites that started this country. Go from the Liberty Bell right down to the White House. And on that lovely patriotic note, comes #107. After I do my traveling to Europe and the like, I will return by boat to America. I have found that there are freighter ships that have cabins available for travelers to rent out. Not the high class accommodations of a cruise ship, but then again that isn't what I am going for. I want to sail into Ellis Island, see the Statue of Liberty and feel the hope of a new life in a "new" country as my ancestors did. How amazing would that be? I want to experience it as they did, or as close to as I can. I think this would be downright exhilarating! I have lived in the West my entire life, but it occurs to me as many Louis L'Amour books as I read, and westerns as I watch, I have never been to Tombstone, Arizona. The famous shoot out at the OK Corral. Great Scot Man, why have I not been? This will be numero 108! Well now that I just said Great Scot, I reminded myself of two of my favorite movies and I very much wish to watch one of them... too bad our dang DVD player is broken. Well I bid you all a very fond adieu. :)

World Record here I come!!!

This one is related in the fact that it is my first attempt at getting into the Guinness book of world records and it is also a shot at being on Ellen maybe. I can crochet with my tongue, for those of you who don't know me. And I wanted to attempt making a long chain. So I tried tonight with a piece that was 6 pull and peel strands connected together and it worked just fine. My roommates all tried tonight to tie knots and to crochet which was quite fun and funny to watch. But I think the most awkward moment of the night was when Logan asked me where I learned to do this and I had to tell the truth and say my mom taught me.... Well if that isn't awkward enough I included this video on the blog I write for my children so they can learn it from their mom too. haha
Hope you enjoy it.

Twofer...

Well this blog entry is kind of a twofer. For those of you who don't speak fluent redneck, that means it is a two for one deal. I finished another thing on my list. I made an article of clothing for myself. I chose to make a skirt. I took a dress pattern, and only did the bottom half of it. Then I added a zipper and a hook and eye closure and voila! It did turn out cute and I have worn it to church already, but it was not too terribly exciting. I think I do enjoy making things for other people more than for myself. huh, live and learn. I will try to remember to post a picture of it sometime. I have a ton of extra fabric because the lady at the store convinced me to buy the end of the bolt which made it half off. Okay, but now what am I going to make?
Anyways, the more exciting and semi scary thing that is on my bucket list that makes this blog a twofer..... I am moving out of Idaho. I have on my list that I want to live outside of Idaho for at least three months. Well I am transferring schools and will probably be seven months. If I have to cut back and go part time instead so that I can work too, then it will be a year. I am nervous, and terrified but I am also excited. I think this will be good for me. And I feel like it is the right thing for me right now. :) Life's latest adventure is how I am looking at it. I think I will relax once I get moved and realize it is okay to be farther than an hour from home. I will keep you posted on this as it develops I just wanted to let you know what is going on. Wish me luck!

Do the Oregon. Part deux...

So we just got back from a little trip to Oregon. This is actually the third time I have been there but part trois didn't fit the song Jade and I made up last time we were there. Anyways, I got to ride on a big plane for the first time in my life. That was exciting as far as flying goes. I still think the take off is my favorite part and landing is my least favorite.
I started one of the things on my bucket list while we were there. #46 is to leave a toy army man in places that I have never been. So I left an army man at the golf course in Sutherlin. We were there for a golf competition that MacKenzie was in. The week was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of the Stockhoff clan, go to my first Costco, see how pretty Oregon is, bought a naughty doughnut for my favoritest cousin, made a new "red-haired friend", read and reread the book Where Willy Went, played cards, and somewhere in there I still managed to spend way more than I should have at a Ross store.
Tel requested a baby orca from the ocean, but since I didn't make it to the ocean this trip it was kind of a difficult task. So I searched high and low and finally found that the dollar store had window clings of orcas. Am I a cheap aunt? Probably. But that didn't stop me, I got him one and then on the way home Sara told me he found one at a yard sale.
Since Jade requested a doughnut from VooDoo Doughnuts I made a trip there right before I got to the airport. This place is crazy. They have tons of different doughnuts to choose from. And plenty of innuendos scattered through out the shop. I will be returning for Jade's birthday present, but we have a few months before that is here so....
Now I am sitting here writing on my blog when I should be doing homework. Staring at a pink box with a doughnut called the cock and balls inside sitting on my desk. That stupid thing had to be my carry-on on the flight home. It started quite a few conversations and I was just nervous the whole time going through security that they were going to make me open the box. Or that I wasn't going to be able to take it on the plane. It made it past security and then we got on the plane and the box was too big to fit between the seat in front of me and the one I was in. So I had to wait until everyone had boarded and then put the box in the aisle and slide it under the seat in front of me. Getting off the plane it started another conversation between me and two of the flight attendants. We get our checked bags and head outside and sit on a bench to wait for our car to get there and another guy starts a conversation with me about Voodoo doughnuts. He asks what kinds I got.... Hmmm... Utah.. Salt Lake, do I just flat out say a normal dozen and the cock and balls? Because let me tell you, that is not a phrase I use often and it's taking my little prudish mindset a bit of work to say it. So I just said a mixed dozen... let's leave out the fact that I have a huge penis shaped pastry that I am carrying around, thank you. So that guy leaves, I smell the doughnuts and decide I want another one while I am waiting and so I start eating one and three girls come up and start asking what ones I got. I think they would have found it funny and not judged at all but still I don't know why I couldn't bring myself to say it again. I think I may have been tramatized from ordering it.
We go into this place and first of all, the lady in front of us in line, I am sorry I had to pause the story to tell you about her, she had the hairiest armpits I have ever seen on anyone. Man or woman. I seriously could have braided it, possibly even French braided it. So nasty! Okay back to the story, so we wait in line for a while and there are two registers. They both had really tatooed girls at them and I was like, perfect this will be a piece of cake. Well right before I get up to a register they open another one and this one has a guy at it. Okay, fine that line is longer anyways. Well I look back at the line that I am in and the tattooed freaky girl is gone and there is an attractive man standing there. Well Gary (Nat and K's dad) tells me to go ahead and order. So I ask the guy if I can get a mixed dozen which is normally ones they pick and just have one specific doughnut in there. He says sure, what one. And according to Gary, I ordered it loud and proud. "I want the dozen with the Cock and Balls doughnut please." I am positive I blushed, he just smiled. I kind of wanted to die. So he tells me that that particular doughnut can't be in the dozens, it has to be sold individually. Okay so we get a dozen, a bacon maple bar and a cock and balls. I leave, Kenzie is carrying the separate box they had to give us for this thing, and we go outside. Her brother and sister in law are waiting and they want to see it too. So they open the box and we are all looking at it and one of their kids is getting close to playing in the road. Don't let things in pink boxes distract you from your children please. I was so worried that a kid was going to get run over and it would be all my fault because I got that doughnut. Well after that we went straight to the airport to come home. I had a really fun weekend and can't wait for us to go back again! That was mostly about a doughnut but I am posting because of the army man mostly... after all, that is the part that was on my bucket list. I will get the first pictures up as soon as I can figure out how. This isn't one that I get to check off as long as I continue to travel to new places.

Aloha Hawaii!!!

Alright, so it could sound way cool like I get to go to Hawaii soon. But it's not. I figured out what to replace my stupidity of having two things on my list that involve going to Hawaii. Sooooo... I got this bright idea after downing about a third of a container of ice cream. We were doing an FHE activity that involved eating it okay, no fat jokes please. Anyways, I decided that I was going to add or rather replace, on my list, eat a half gallon of ice cream in one sitting.
Yep I just finished it. And yeah I really do feel like throwing up would be an improvement. Funny how that worked its way into our lesson and is now having a recurring theme in my night. So I want to hurl, I am in fact not going to Hawaii and posting about it and at this point I feel like my stomach wants to fall out my butt. Man that sucks! So this is the most depressing post I have put on here so far, and hopefully will put on here.
How about we look at the bright side of life. I didn't hurl. I enjoyed all but the last two bites of ice cream. And I don't have to search the fridge for dinner tonight! :) Well I'm gonna go make friends with the nice cold floor now, so aloha Hawaii, stay....beachy?

Wicked Awesome Weekend!

First off, I realized I am a retard! That or I just don't want to accept that Hawaii is in fact one of the states included in the United States. Maybe that's where so many Americans get confused as to whether or not our President is a US citizen or not. Anyways, I put on my bucket list that I wanted to visit all of the states and then I later said that I want to go to Hawaii. I did consider saying that it was a specific place I wanted to go in Hawaii but it still is my own stupidity so I would like to find something to replace "Go to Hawaii" with on my list. Because that is in fact a real state in this country. It's not just some Asians floating out in the middle of the ocean.... or is it?
So if you are out there and reading this, then go ahead and give me some ideas for what I should replace that with. Until then, I will tell you I had a freaking awesome weekend! Natalie and Mackenzie and I went to Victor. I showed them my little home town of Teton Valley and we had a great adventure. We went to the Timberline to look for the little midget cowboy, but he didn't make an appearance. However we did get judging looks in there because we were drinking water. Apparently, that is unacceptable in a bar. Oh and even the lady with her baby on her hip was judging. Yeah Sweet Home Alabama, is not the only place that rednecks take babies in bars. Sweet Home Teton Valley residents do too!
They finally got to meet two of my favorite people, the infamous Dixie Dick and Marylou 'Shirley Jose Vlou' Hatch! The five of us are all entertained by inappropriate humor and potty humor so we all got along great. I wish that the five of us could do a girls road trip. I think it would be the greatest thing ever. We could educate them on what The Thunder from Down Under is really all about and they could educate us on... well a few things actually. haha
Kenzie and I watched, and filmed Natalie eating a habenero pepper (#15 on her list). I may just have to post that video later, with her consent of course. And we played card games and watched movies. And we weren't at all sad when we heard we might get snowed in. But my dad did freak out a little thinking we would get stuck in the comfort of a nice warm cabin for more than a weekend. So he called, woke us up, and came to break through the snow on the road so we could get out. I wanted to stay longer but it didn't happen. We came back today and we are enjoying the silence of the apartment for a while. I know I for one can't wait til our next adventure in Teton Valley. They may have been to the See and Save thrift store, but there are still so many other places to go in Teton Valley!!! And I love being the one that is able to show it to them! :)

High Tea

So, even though it wasn't on my list, of things to do I thought you might want to read about this. My roommates and I just had a lovely tea party. Complete with our replacement crumpets. Because lets face it, who really knows what a crumpet is? Where are we Britain?! We had cookies because here in America we eat cookies. And as an alternative to tea we had some delightful Chrystal Light. :)
The four of us dressed up. Donned our pearls and heels; made some tea sandwiches and poppy seed muffins; and had a nice little time. Our stuffed animals lined up on the other side of the table. They had to use shot glasses because we didn't have any other cups small enough for them. But they seemed to enjoy themselves too.
Next time you are bored and don't know what to do, I encourage you to find your inner child. Do something that you haven't done since you were little. Remember something that you enjoyed doing when you were little and do it. We had a tea party. You might want to play with some playdoh, or break out the set of marbles that is collecting dust in your closet. Okay so I am remembering pogs more vividly but whatever floats your boat. Yes, I am encouraging playing with your Barbie again. Maybe just maybe, you still have your 1981 Nintendo and you want to rock the Mario Brothers again. Whatever it is just connect with the child you used to be. I think sometimes we get caught up in all the crap that goes on in our lives and we forget that the eight year old version of ourselves, though had a worse sense of fashion and hair styles, would probably still kick our butts for forgetting who we really are. Go back to your roots. End of story.
